Endless possibilities

At Protocol UAS, we see the promise of the future. In our lifetimes we’ve observed the expansion of the population on our planet and seen the strain that has placed on the infrastructure of society. We have seen our leaders slowly acknowledge the impacts of climate change and bolster the framework of regulatory oversight to keep our workforce safer and make processes more efficient.

Our Vision

Our vision is to support industry to smartly embrace new technologies to promote personnel safety and increase process efficiency while reducing our carbon footprint. By leveraging unmanned systems to do dangerous and monotonous tasks, we can keep our workers safer and perform certain operations more efficiently.

Our company

Protocol UAS is a group dedicated to supporting the growth of the unmanned equipment services industry; primarily focused on unmanned aerial vehicles. Our team has the expertise and the passion to guide businesses seeking to establish a UAS/RPAS (drone) service in the steps necessary to form a safe and efficient drone program for operations anywhere in the world.

Protocol UAS tracks emerging technologies and investigates how to apply new solutions for existing tasks. The value clients find in Protocol UAS’ services is that we identify an end-to-end solution(s) (data collection tools [UxS], data processing methods and data integration) and show the comparison of automated options to existing manual/semi-automatic processes. In some cases our advice is to stay with an existing process and defer the implementing an automated solution until the technology improves or the regulations shift.

Our services

Initial operation development

working with leaders standing up a drone service business line, Protocol can aid in the evaluation of the purpose of an operation and recommend options on aircraft, data processing methods/services and advise on how to incorporate labor (contract or direct) and training protocols for remote pilots supporting the operation. Protocol has well established relationships with contract remote pilot groups, training organizations and insurance underwriters specializing in UAS coverage to cover all aspects to start a new operation.

Complex operation development

whether setting up a new drone operation or augmenting an existing one, Protocol can help when exploring complex UAS/RPAS operations that are either outside of standard operating rules or in the difficult to interpret areas of current regulations. If a project is beyond our internal capabilities, the Protocol team is connected with regulators and legal advisors to help guide more complex UAS operation developments.

Operator (remote pilot) training

While Protocol doesn’t currently offer training services, our team is connected with many training organizations in North America and can direct to a commercially available training option or help to develop a custom training method for unique UAS operations.

Airspace authorizations

Protocol can guide operation leaders through every step of the process to request access to controlled airspace - from automated LAANC requests through to applying for permissions through the FAA’s Drone Zone website.
Protocol has familiarity with regulations in other countries around the world and our team can support in any market - For regulatory environments our team is not well versed in, we could explore those markets or simply direct with a personal introduction to a foreign organization better suited to support those areas.
